Napa Valley Winery Renovation

Timber Trusses for 1880s Stone Winery

The Beaulieu Vineyards recently completed an extensive renovation of their 1880s stone winery.  Located in the heart of Napa Valley, their goals were to uncover, preserve, and share their history throughout the renovation, while also creating a remarkable new hospitality experience. We were hired as a subcontractor to provide the timber trusses for the main event space.

The project General Contractor originally reached out to us in Sep 2024 with a simple sketch of the trusses needed. After a few rounds of drawings, we finalized the plan to provide 14 trusses with a 39’ span and 4:12 pitch. The customer requested exposed metal heel plates and washers, that were painted satin black for aesthetic purposes. We also provided over 8,000 linear feet of 4x6 purlin material.

In Spring 2025, we coordinated and shipped out three different deliveries to California, based on the GC's installation schedule. Using our instructions, the on-site GC installed the trusses and was able to capture drone footage of the installation (see video below). This is a typical timeframe for commercial projects – from start to completion can take a year or more – and that’s why working with people you enjoy and trust really matters!

This type of project is what we call our “bread and butter”. We work with commercial General Contractors as a subcontractor to provide the skilled specialty timber features needed, which allows them to focus on executing the overall project. It’s awesome to be in Idaho and working on projects like this all over the United States. We are crossing our fingers that someday we get to go see this winery in person…and enjoy a glass of Pinot Noir while we are there!
