Showstopper in Sioux Falls

Paul Fick has built over 2,250 homes in South Dakota so he knows what makes a home special. One of his most recent builds was loaded with our timber features and was featured in the Sioux Falls 2026 Fall Parade of Homes!  

This home included 17 timber trusses spread across the Entry, Four Seasons room, Great Room, Primary Bedroom, Back Patio, and Cabana. We also crafted 22 exterior corbels and 2 knee braces for the garage.

The trusses included arched hammer beam trusses and arched king post trusses. All the trusses had similar arched members and pitch in order to maintain consistency throughout the property. For these trusses, Paul & his team chose our reclaimed imitation texture. This texture is a little more time intensive as it requires a mult-step wire-brushing process, but the result is new wood that looks reminiscent of reclaimed beams. Another finished detail (a great suggestion from the Ficks) that set these trusses apart was adding old European styling to the tapered oak pegs to maintain a traditional aesthetic. In this home, it was the big and little details that worked together to create such stunning spaces.

I was recently in a conversation with a neighbor who honestly shared “I still don’t get what your business does. Why would someone hire you versus just letting their builder take care of everything?” This was a fair question so I pulled up our website and showed some of our finished pictures and explained how our tools and skillsets are specialized so we can build custom features and then deliver them to the GC ready to be installed. We work as a subcontractor to make the GC’s job easier and add “wow” factor to their homes!
